Bay State Savings Bank Names New Directors/Corporators

WORCESTER, MA / May 2015 - Bay State Savings Bank recently announced that Carol A. Garofoli, Director of Operations: WPI and William J. Fay, Funeral Director: Fay Brothers, Inc., both Bank Corporators, have been named Directors, and Eugene A. Degre, President: Killeen Machine Tool Company, Inc.; John M. Heald, Partner: Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors; Dr. Jennifer J. Hylton, Psy.D: Counseling & Assessment Clinic, LLC; Stephen F. Madaus, Esq., Partner: Mirick O’Connell, Attorneys at Law; Francis J. Trapasso: Francis J. Trapasso & Associates, and Mark Smiley, President/Principal: Managed Wealth Strategies, LLC, have been named Corporators.

The new Directors and Corporators were welcomed by Bay State Savings Bank President & CEO, Peter B. Alden, Chairman of the Board, John H. McCabe and the Board of Trustees at the Bank’s Annual Meeting on April 30th. “Corporators function as ambassadors for the Bank and are selected by the Trustees because they have strong community networks and are successful in their professions,” said Alden. “They are an excellent source for referrals and for providing feedback on the Bank’s customer service. We look forward to their contributions and advice as we continue to serve our local community.”

The Annual Meeting provided an opportunity to reflect back on 120 successful years in business, recognizing the talent and support of employees and the skillful guidance of its chosen leaders. The Bank thanked Robert P. Powers who retired after 36 years of service as a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee, and Corporators, Roberta Schaefer and Judith Thomson who retired after 16 years and 10 years of service, respectively, and honored the memories two Corporators, William C. Bibaud and Gerald F. Madaus, Jr., who passed away unexpectedly in 2015, during their tenures.
