Bay State Savings Bank's "Free Skate" Event Fills Diaper Pail For Friendly House!
February 1, 2014
WORCESTER, MA – On Saturday, February 1st, Bay State Savings Bank sponsored a FREE SKATE at the Worcester Common Oval. As part of the event, patrons could donate a box of diapers for Friendly House and receive an additional FREE SKATE voucher. Thanks to the generosity of many skaters and Bay State employees and customers, the Bank was able to “over-fill” a large container with new diapers for the babies who stay at the Friendly House Shelter.
According to Gordon P. Hargrove, Executive Director of Friendly House, “Diapers are one of the biggest needs we have here. It’s hard to keep them in supply, with the large number of babies that stay with us in our shelters. When Bay State Savings Bank contacted me about this event, I was so thrilled because we would be able to replenish some of our diaper inventory, and the Bank invited us to bring children from Friendly House to the FREE SKATE.”
“Friendly House does a lot of great work in the Worcester neighborhoods and Bay State Savings Bank is very pleased to support them,” said Diane Giampa, SVP/Human Resources & Marketing for Bay State Savings Bank. “We are delighted that the ‘Diaper Drive’ was a success and that it will have a direct impact on the young children that Friendly House serves.”
